In spite of some setbacks, St. Laurent won a good number of games in November. After a victory on November 6 against Lionel-Groulx with a score of 4 to 3, the team lost twice during the November 12 weekend. The Champlain St. Lawrence Lions came away from one game with a score of 4 to 3, after winning a shoot out. The rough period for the Patriots was confirmed the following day, when they went down to defeat 6 to 3 to benefit Alma. The tide was turned the following weekend when St. Laurent crushed the team from Harrington by scoring 9 goals and letting in only 3. Finally, the Patriots could get their revenge against Alma, and they did so in a completely convincing way, registering 8 goals and letting only 2 shots get past their net.
On Friday November 25, they will once again meet Harrington and will still have a good opportunity to secure their lead in the general rankings.
A good talent-work mixFor Patriots Coach André Carlos, the chemistry between the recruits and the veterans are working well. “We lost a lot of players last year, but the 12 recruits brought a lot to the team and the veterans made it so that the desire to win was quickly instilled. There is a good mix of talented players and those who have to work at it. Moreover, our two goalie recruits are doing excellent work.”
The Patriots will try to garner a maximum number of points until the end of the mid-season, because their main adversaries in 2012 will prove to be a little tougher (Quebec, André-Laurendeau, Sorel). “For the moment, it is going well, but anything can happen,” warned Carlos. “There have been very close games and each and every one of the players must be ready.”
