Saint-Laurent distributes trees in honour of Earth Day
In honour of Earth Day, held last April 22, the Borough of Saint-Laurent offered trees to large companies and to educational institutions in Saint-Laurent, in partnership with the Ville de Montréal’s nursery.
The companies and institutions were approached by Développement économique Saint-Laurent and Éco-quartier de Saint-Laurent. Of these, six companies and one institution divided up 200 mature trees with exposed roots. The company 5 N Plus inc., located on rue Garand, was among those who took up the Borough’s offer, ordering 12 trees. The company took advantage of the opportunity to organize a tree-planting ceremony on April 27 with its employees, a ceremony to which the mayor of Saint-Laurent, Alan DeSousa, was invited. The mayor congratulated those assembled for having seized the opportunity to contribute to the Borough’s efforts to help minimize the greenhouse effect.
