A new school year and construction sites: Be cautious while driving
With the start of a new school year and the presence of numerous construction sites, traffic has significantly increased throughout the borough’s streets and roads over the last few days. Therefore, all road users—drivers, cyclists and pedestrians—are asked to obey traffic signs and to be attentive while circulating on the public road network.
Drivers are asked to be particularly careful in the vicinity of school zones and to be attentive to the speed limit in these sectors, 30 km/h maximum. The same caution applies to road construction zones, where particular attention must paid to road signs. This is a time for patience and courtesy!
For their part, pedestrians and cyclists are expected to cross at intersections and obey traffic lights. Pedestrians and cyclists must be visible at all times.
Road safety is everyone’s business, and cooperation on the part of all is crucial. In this Year of Road Safety, we should all strive to reduce the number of traffic accidents and work to improve safety across the territory.
