I’m not grateful
Robert Bourassa’s nephew, Mr. Françios Le Bel recently expressed his strong belief that his uncle deserves to be honoured.
If that is so, I would suggest he follow Montreal Canadien Hockey player and team Captain, Saku Koivu’s lead and establish a foundation.
For instance, a few years ago, Saku Koivu had the misfortune of being diagnosed with
non –Hodgkins lymphoma. Mr. Kiev’s experience and gratitude for the treatment he received at the MUHC’s Montreal General Hospital motivated him to launch the “Saku Koivu Foundation.
Shortly thereafter, as a result of voluntary donations, Saku’s foundation made a significant contribution towards the purchase of a much needed PET/CT Scan (machine) for the MGH. This machine can detect, diagnose and assist in the treatment of cancer.
Mr. Le Bel could consider a similar initiative and establish a foundation. In so doing, while I would not be one of them because of Mr. Bourassa’s introduction of bills 22 and 178, and his apparent pride in announcing that “we have suspended fundamental liberties, others who wish to respect and honour Robert Bourassa for his “contributions to our society, could contribute to a cause that is near and dear to the Bourassa family.
