DeSousa should be ashamed
I just learned through Chris Karidogiannis, (member of the Park Ave. Merchants Assoc.) that not only did City of Montreal Executive member and St. Laurent Borough Alan DeSousa renege on his promise to vote against the Park Ave./Bleury name change, he also evidently disregarded and ignored the wishes and opinion of the 5,000 St. Laurent citizens who signed a petition against it.
Despite this, DeSousa voted in favour, saying proudly that he "made the extra effort to reach out to...the 'silent majority'". Really!!!
This tells me is that once again, DeSousa is under the mistaken belief that his mandate is to pander to Mayor Gerald Tremblay's personal objectives, rather than represent the people who elected him to the office he so obviously enjoys.
I will take it upon myself to reach out to what I call the 'vocal majority' when I suggest that Alan DeSousa seriously consider submitting his resignation as borough Mayor of St. Laurent. That should allow him all the time he needs to comply with Tremblay's whims.
