The few showers that occurred in the middle of the afternoon on June 7 didn’t prevent the eight edition of the Show-Chaud to rock Beaudet Park. Artistic diversity was the main theme as the audience of about 300 got to see a wide variety of exotic dances as well as rock bands, rappers and singers.
The event started around 1:30 p.m. under a warm shining sun, but near the end of the first act, a violent storm hit St. Laurent. The crew had no choice but to put away all the audio equipment to avoid any damage. However, it was quickly over, so everything was plugged back and the second group got on stage. A few other showers slowed down the rest of the scheduled program, but like event organizer Sandra Becharrani said “every act was able to get on and in the end we were only 30 minutes late.”

For Mrs. Becharrani, the main characteristic of this year’s Show-Chaud was its diversity. “It was more multicultural than usual, mainly because of all the different dance choreographies we got to see”, she said. “The kids were awesome and the hosts were excellent. It was really a show made by teens for teens.”

As the tenth anniversary of the annual youth talent showcase is approaching, the event organizers are already thinking of cranking things up a notch for 2009. “We want to make it even bigger next year. We need to get ready for our tenth anniversary, so why not start now,” mentioned Mrs. Becharrani.
